Last weeks run # 1456 : Hare: SNAKE CHARMER
Another weekend with a good turnout of hashers. All gathered at the top of Rubbi road and then at exactly 5 pm On On was called and we were informed that there were 11 checks with a booze stop at check 6. It seemed pretty obvious that there was only one route and that was up, and when in doubt go up. Well that all proved to be correct and up we went. Checks 1 to 5 came quickly and before long we came to check 6 at the top of the hill and what a magnificent view, cold Amstel beers all lined up and ready to be drunk, what a view. Some comments were passed about the big dam below and how small things looked etc but then, in the distance, long after the walkers had arrived, did Hermanus hobble in. This must be some sort of a record.
From here there was only one way and that was downhill, so off we all went, the walkers heading back the way we came and the runners on a different route. Check 7 was at the bottom of the hill and from here we headed towards the beach. After a short spell on the beach we headed back on to the road and headed for home.
On arrival Gargoyle had already started the boerie rolls but we packed it all up and headed for Snake Charmers pad for the On On.

Hermanus: For coming in at check 6 really late.
Blabbermouth: For remembering to bring beans for the boerie rolls.
Snake charmer: For starting the run at exactly 5 pm, making Hermanus seem late.
Fucket Brother1 (Destressed) and Sarah (our English student) for coming in really fast at the end of the run
Doggy Style: A sprinting walker, now there’s an oxymoron for you.
Visiting foot: Destressed’s wife, who could not drink alone so she had Doggy style help her.
Curry Bum: For taking a short cut at a split
Blowbeans: The real reason I have forgotten but he was getting excited at snake charmers dog’s having a sexual go for one another. Now here was an interesting thing, Molly, the small black female dog was trying to jump this big male dog (the name escapes me). Snake charmer I think a bit of sexual education is necessary.
After the ceremony we had a raffle for a bottle of wine, cherries soaked in Vodka, which was won by Blabbermouth and a chocolate cake, won by Blowbeans, which was enjoyed by hash.
