Venue: Godfrey Road off Boyes Drive, Kalk Bay: head to the south end of Boyes Drive, just before it curves down and round to Kalk Bay there is a right fork which is approximately straight on – this is Godfrey Road, at the base of Trappieskop.

A small group of VIPs turned up on a cloudy Sunday afternoon at some middle camp somewhere in Cape Town.
4 walkers, including a defective hare, and 4 runners set off along and around. And then the runners went up. And up. And up a bit more. It was very apparent that the defective hare did not set this trail… a bit later, after a lot of down, the co-hare, AKA the real hare, hove into view. Cecil John had been kind with his weather up until that point, but then it rained.
Almost at the home run and what should catch us up but a small brown curly thing. I recognise that poodle, I thought. So I had to go all the way back up the steps, along the road, blah blah blah and return the roving Rusty to his aberrant handler. By which time we were thoroughly wet.
