Last weeks run # 1461 : Hare: HERMANUS


A great sunny afternoon, and ON ON was called by Her-Anus. 10 checks with a booze stop at check 7, and in this area it was not to be a short flat run. So with “Who’s the boss” on my back we went searching. Something must be said about a hashers intelligence when you come across a two way split, and you must go either left or right, and the hashers decide to go straight. Well we were all following Boblet, so I suppose enough said.

It was at this point that the run went up and up and up, and just when you thought it couldn’t go up anymore, well it did. By now though Jan Klein, blodwin leek, Boblet and Helgar, thought the straight and flat route looked a little more enticing so they decided to bash their way along the road.

The rest of us came across the sand dune that would take us over the hill and down towards Sandy bay. It looked easy enough so we off we toddled up the sand dune. Snake Charmer and Doggy Style decided that the dogs would battle in the sand so they led them along a much easier path, hmmm. Eventually we made it to the top, check 7 and booze stop and Heranus brought out the OB’s, which even Potty, who has just turned 16, was only to keen to dive into. A great view but after having been sand blasted it was decided to head on back. At least this part was easy, downhill all the way.

Next Sunday we are celebrating Blabbermouths 20th run and Koeksuster’ birthday so there is a bring and braai afterwards at blabbermouths pad.
